Dolled Up
So for my PLS 21 class our homework assignment was to make a webpage. Yoi helped me come up with a webpage to advertise my hair and makeup skills. My older cousin, Ellen has been doing hair and makeup every since she was in high school and she even worked at MAC for a while. Now she’s a MAC freelancer because she decided to go back to school to do nursing. She’s the one who taught me everythinggggggggg I know about hair and makeup and has helped me so much in starting my makeup collection. I’ve even helped her do a lot of weddings last year. The more I’m with her the more I learn.
I started my collection with my obsession with lipglosses. I got into lipglosses in middle school! Then my freshmen year of high school I bought my first set of brushes, then slowly bought more and more eyeshadows, and eventually Ellen hooked me up with a MAC makeup box! MY BABYYYY MAC!
I practiced a lot on my friends in high school and eventually started advertising it as a business towards the end of my sophomore year. Now random people make hair and/or makeup appointments with me =) BUT, I want to expand even further. I want to make a real webpage. I’ve even been booked for the Empire in The Air photoshoot. This inspired me to work on my portfolio more. So I’m workinggggggg on it. I’ll keep you guys updated but seriously though…

If you or anyone you know ever need your hair and/or makeup done, HOLLAAAAA! Trust, I’ve had a lot experiencee: proms, balls, senior portraits, photoshoots, cotillions, weddings, and other events. I’ve practically done it all !
Side Note: I made customized garters, corsages, and boutonnieres too! HOLLA!
Babes and I have been going to the shooting range a lot lately. Big thanks to Uncle Eric for letting us use all his rifles and stuff =) I tried uploading some videos earlier but there was an error … I’ll try again later but if you want to watch it I also have it posted on facebook.
Going to the shooting range has been reminding me of zombies lately! COD NAZI ZOMBIES! haha babes and dela hella got me into it, and I just got twin, cheeka, and Janea into yet. I noticed that everyones been obsessed with zombies lately. All these zombies movies have been playing lately and there’s that one AMC show, The Walking Dead. At the outdoor shooting range in concord. I had a bad experience using this rifle the last time we were at the shooting range but babes made me try it again.
Todays officially one month until Kevin leaves for the navy…I’m so sad but so PROUD at the same time. He leaves for basic training on February 11th. His trainings going to be held in Chicago and it’ll last for 8 weeks, and then he has to do tech school straight after for 12 weeks. After tech school he’ll be stationed somewhere depending on his job, and I reallyyyyyy hope it’s going to be San Diego. That’s the closes he can get to home. Knowing he’s away is going to be hard for me =( the only contact I’ll have with him while he’s in basic training is through letters. I plan to write a letter everyday…After basic training I get to call him whenever he’s not busy, and we’ll webchat whenever he gets the chance. If he really does get stationed in San Diego I plan to do Pharmacy school there. I’d do anything to keep this relationship going. He’s worth it.
Kevin and I have been together for only 20 months. We’ve been through a lot these past 20 months and I’m happy to say that he’s not only my boyfriend but my bestfriend too. I truly appreciate all he’s done for me, especially with my illness. He has never once left my side, and for that I am forever grateful. I’m going to miss him so much while he’s away but I know that this will be the best thing for him, for us. I promise to stay by his side all throughout his Navy career and I can wait to see what the future holds for us.
I love you babes. Never forget that.

So I finally decided to write in my tumblr ! My last entry was in Nov. of ‘09, which really wasn’t entry worthy at all. I haven’t wrote in tumblr because I always debated on how much I wanted to put out there. I would blog things then end up deleting them a few hours later. But now I feel like so much has happened to me in the past year that it just really NEEDS to be blogged.
SCHOOL
I’m finally back in Davis =) Well I’ve been back since fall quarter and now it’s already winter quarter but yeah it feels so good to be back! As most of you know, I unfortunately developed a kindey disease through my Lupus last February (LONNNGGGGG STORY!). I’ll catch you guys up as I go along with my blog entries but yeah…because I had such a difficult time with my health I struggled so much with winter quarter of last year, and I eventually became to weak to do spring quarter at all. So I had to go on PELP (planned educational leave program) and took spring quarter off to go on bed rest.
It took a lot for me to finally decide to go on bed rest. I was doing so well the beginning of winter quarter last year and all of a sudden I got sick! It was just too much to handle physically, mentally, and especially emotionally. Luckily I had so many supporters, and best of all God by my side. I especially thank my new friend Liza B. Sparks for all her advice and support. I met Liza through my boyfriend’s stepmom, Nariza. Liza is a good friend of Nariza who found out she had Lupus at the age of 17 which was the same age I was diagnosed with Lupus. She even developed the kidney disease to Lupus twice so I felt so happy to know that I finally found someone to talk to who truly understood how I truly felt physically, mentally, and emotionally. Liza was the one who convinced me to take time off from school and I am so grateful that I took her advice. Bed rest made such a big difference =)
Months went by and I felt well enough to do summer school so I took english and speech at Contra Costa during the summer. I even worked a little during the summer at the movie theaters again. It was easy and they never gave me crazy hours.
Now I’m back in school ! I’ve been trying so hard to catch up. I got a letter during the summer saying I was on AP (Academic Probation). The only reason why they put me on AP was because I wasn’t there spring quarter so I didn’t accumulate enough units at the end of the year. Boo! And I haven’t even transfered my units from summer school yet =/ Luckily, I did “alright” fall quarter this year and I’m no longer on probation! BUTTTTTT, I really really really reallyyyyyyy need to raise my GPA. NO JOKE ! It’s on this quarter, I’m trying to go to PHARMACY SCHOOL !
But aside from the books, I really felt the need to get out there and be more involved with MK (Mga Kapatid, the “filipino” club at davis). So I decided to try out for a role in PCN (Pilipino Cultural Night), and I got the part as “Inay”, the Yaya of the story. She’s the comedian of the whole play so it’s a perfect fit for me =) I’m so happy I got the role ! LOOK OUT FOR DAVIS PCN IN MAY 2011, ya’ll better be there! fa’real ;)
